In these classes we will learn how to use a sewing machine and also follow a pattern. For the first part of the semester we will learn how to sew doll clothing and also learn how to setup the loom to weave a scarf or a small rug.

We will also learn different techniques to weave like with yarn or fabric rags or with beads or plastic . The older and more advanced students are welcome to pick a sewing project using a commercial pattern of their own or one of mine.

This class suits all levels beginners to advanced, Ages 8 to 15.We will start with making smaller projects and working our way up. We will make clothing, but also bags pillows stuffed animals and more. We will learn some basic elements for designing, opening our eyes and minds, using our imagination and reusing material and vintage clothing. We will also use new fabrics of various sorts. The children are allowed to bring there own fabrics and also sewing machines if they have one. We do have lots of sewing machines here in the studio but if you like to learn and practice on your own that is fine.

These classes are for beginners as well as intermediate students.
